Our Story

For Travelers Who Want to Do This Right

Seeing elephants in Thailand can be beautiful — but it can also be confusing. So many places use the word “ethical” now, and not all of them mean the same thing.

Elephant Sanctuary | Est. 2007 was created for people who want something more honest. A slower day. A smaller group. A chance to understand the elephants as living, emotional animals — not attractions.

Our sanctuaries focus on respectful elephant experiences, local guides, real care, and clear boundaries. When you visit, you’re not just buying a tour. You’re helping support food, care, staff, mahouts, and the communities around our sanctuaries.

What Makes Us Diffrent

What Makes an Elephant Visit Truly Ethical?

We believe the best elephant experiences are calm, transparent, and built around the elephants’ wellbeing first.

No Riding, Ever

Elephants are not here to carry tourists. Our experiences are designed around respect, learning, and gentle connection — never riding or performances.

No Shows or Tricks

No painting, no circus behavior, no forced entertainment. We let elephants be elephants, and that is already more than enough.

Small, Calm Groups

We avoid the rushed tourist-factory feeling. Smaller groups help guests connect more deeply and keep the environment calmer for the elephants.

Real Elephant Stories

Every elephant has a name, a personality, and a history. Our guides share where they came from, how they live now, and what responsible care really looks like.

Local Care & Community Support

Your visit helps support elephant food, sanctuary staff, mahouts, local operations, and the people who care for the elephants every day.

ESTABLISHED & TRUSTED

Trusted Elephant Experiences Since 2007

For more than 18 years, our team has helped travelers experience elephants in Thailand without riding, shows, or cruelty. We’re proud to grow carefully — from Chiang Mai and Phuket to our upcoming Chonburi sanctuary for Pattaya and Bangkok travelers.

A DAY WITH US

What a Visit Feels Like

1

Arrive in Nature

Leave the city noise behind and arrive in a calm sanctuary setting surrounded by trees, fresh air, and elephants moving at their own pace.

2

Meet the Elephants

Your guide introduces the herd, their personalities, and the stories behind the elephants you’ll meet.

3

Learn, Observe & Connect

Depending on the location and program, you may feed, walk nearby, observe natural behavior, and learn how ethical elephant care works.

4

Slow Down

The best moments are often the quiet ones — watching an elephant eat, splash, wander, or simply stand peacefully with the herd.

5

Leave With a Story

You don’t leave with just photos. You leave understanding why ethical elephant tourism matters.

CHOOSING WISELY

A Gentle Rule for Choosing an Elephant Sanctuary

If an elephant experience feels like a performance, a photo factory, or a rushed checklist, pause for a moment. Ethical travel should feel calmer than that.

At our sanctuaries, we focus on respect first: no riding, no shows, small groups, and guides who help guests understand the elephants as individuals.
